If the moon landing hoax theory has a father it would be Bill Kaysing. He was a technical writer for Rocketdyne, which built Apollo 11's engines and his 1974 book “We Never Went to the Moon: America’s Thirty Billion Dollar Swindle” was the first assertation that the whole moon landing was faked.
He alleged that NASA didn’t have the technology to get a man to the moon, so the government concocted the entire Apollo fable to fulfill John F. Kennedy’s promise to win the Space Race over the U.S.S.R.
People who agree with Bill have alleged that Stanley Kubrick filmed the fake moon landing during or after he made 2001: A Space Odyssey.
